Tighter Laws for Internet Cafe

Happy holidays to you all. I am filled with the holiday's spirit makes me a bit lazy, hahaha but i still going to carry out my responsibility.

Remember i posted a post titled Enforcing the Law? Well i do because i did it. Anyway, this new post is also about the law only it is a different article. It is not the same because the old post talked about enforcing the law but this one talks about tighter laws.

From what i read, there are differences between the laws before and the ones that are to be executed. My last post they are telling the Internet Cafes to close by midnight as a concern to the teenagers that are pestering near these cafes even after midnight. Now they put up new laws where these cafes can only operate using the ground floor of buildings. No more two storey Internet Cafes.

According to Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin, cyber cafes operators are banned from using tinted windows so that their cafes can be seen from the outside. It is so that people can see what is happening inside to make sure there are no illegal activities being carry out inside the cafes.

Alcohols and cigarettes are both a no-no inside the premises. According to the article, operators need to keep record of the time of all their customers in and out of their premises and they need to also send the names of the students that went and use their services to the students' schools.

Any of the operaters that does not comply with the guidelines will and shall be blacklisted. Not only that, their names will be sent to all local authorities and they will not be allow to open this type of business in any part of Malaysia.

It seems that cyber cafes laws are getting tighter but still, a lot more has been neglecting these guidelines, that's one thing i am sure of. One thing i am not sure of is that whether these laws have been enforced or not. Anyway....this is the end for my post, enjoy this holiday people and thank you to all.
